Re: a safe, non-stick pan?
I've already noticed some of the coating coming off my Green pans. Ugh. Glad I didn't pay for them!

Re: a safe, non-stick pan?
That was one of the things that seemed to vary by brand.

Re: a safe, non-stick pan?
So people who own ceramic coated cookware, share your brands and reviews, including how long you've had it for reference. I am an exclusive cast iron skiller user and am extremely happy with them BUT I do have one piece of remaining teflon in my house, which is the electric griddle that I use for pancakes and to bring camping (when we do non-rustic tent camping with electricity). I'd love to switch that out to a safer version.
But share your reviews for all brands whether it's skillet or griddle, because we are all looking for different things.

Oster griddle. Had it 8 months. Still perfect.
I don't remember the brand of my skillets. I'll look later. |

Re: a safe, non-stick pan?
Well... I was purusing the grocery store over the weekend and happened upon that very oster ceramic griddle on sale. What better time to add it to my kitchen! So I'm excited to join the ceramic brigade! And mostly excited because my electric griddle was my very only piece of nasty teflon in my house.

Re: a safe, non-stick pan?
Ugh, we need to replace our teflon electric griddle. Glad to know there is a ceramic option. DH is mostly the only one who uses it, and he doesn't care much about this stuff, so I routinely forget how awful it is...
All our other pans are Cuisinart Green Gourmet. Love them. As others have said, burning stuff in them greatly reduces the nonstick properties...our most-used skillet is not working so well for eggs anymore because of other things we've cooked in it. We keep saying we need to buy a new one that's used exclusively for eggs and keep the old one for other stuff, especially things we want to really brown well. But this is after years of use, so I feel like we got our money's worth. Not dishwasher recommended. We got one for MIL and she puts it in the dishwasher daily and has basically destroyed it.
