What's your time frame now, and what's your do list? Thinking of you preparing for your meeting.

Did you meet with a professional organiser in the end, and has the cleaner been to help? Or are they the same person?

AND the best part is that I have LOTS of counter space now to use as it is actually intended to be used -- for food preparation! It's amazing! I love to cook and cook all of our meals from scratch. I was getting to the place where I was frustrated by our kitchen, wishing for more counter space. Lo and behold, all I needed to do was actually fully utilize what I already had!

The cleaner/organizer are the same person. It's actually a housekeeper who'd like to break into organizing help too. So I guess it'd be more accurate to say she's a professional cleaner, amateur organizer. She's still learning the ropes of getting people organize. So the organizing ended up being mostly corrected by me and she was just a second set of hands. Also having her there and knowing I'm paying her for the time kept me moving. Do that was good. The last pictures I updated were from after she came.

We've got all our morning stuff accomplished today so now I'm going to move on to cleaning and organizing. Didn't get as much done as I would like this weekend but of well. I'll catch up.

First important visit happening tomorrow!

I only read the first page. But I too am not gifted at decorating. A new coat of paint can do wonders for a room/house! Even if it is just white or off white. Also curtains.

We've lived here for 5 yrs and I keep saying I should put curtains in the living room windows but not doing it. They do have mini blinds. I did buy curtains for each of the children's windows and it makes their room look nicer.

I try and keep our living room tidy, it's easier with older kids. We do have two bins of toys behind the couch (there's space to walk there) but in front of the couch are not toys.

Well, trying to get rid of the visual clutter in the in the kitchen had made a ton more work for us and set us back big big big time. I rearranged the white cupboard with my small appliances to make room for the microwave and some of the jars. The microwave was too heavy for the shelf, so it kinda disrupted the shelf. Now that shelf is so wobbly we have to fix it before we can do anything else because it's now a hazard. And we had to put all the stiff back where it was. so dh and I are fixing the shelf instead of cleaning and organizing.

Set backs like that are frustrating however, try to remember that even when it looks and feels like you're taking big steps backwards, you really aren't. A good serious reorganization ALWAYS makes the situation worse before it gets remarkably better.

You're getting there!!!!

I am sorry that is so frustrating. You have done good work - I don't think anything looks *bad*. I think you will do great!

Oh I am sorry, sick kids are no fun especially when you have this G's to get done and everything just grinds to a halt.

Praying for you. To be honest show homes are more worrying than normal looking ones and I think you have done a great job.

Default Re: I think our home gives people the wrong idea about us.

Hey guys thank you all for the help! They asked to see our basement. we didn't expect that on the first day. Oh well. I think our basement is no better or worse than the average basement. but we'd fully intended to tackle it before people saw it. It's not just our belongings down there. I work with a few ministries that keep stuff in our basement.

Anyways. Things went fine. We felt fine about the house and nothing was noted as needing improvement. But I'm on a roll and we will keep improving.

Thank you all for the help!!
