10 day grain detox starting tomorrow
My family and I are mostly wheat and sugar free when at home... I have found after my third baby I have crazy sugar cravings and have been packing on the pounds...
I heard a great talk by Lysa Terkeurst about craving God over food and a little about her book Made to Crave... Sounds interesting. I like the wheat belly books (don't agree with all his ideas though) and I like following a plan... I am all set to start tomorrow... Here's praying it will deepen my awareness of my need for God and I will feel healthier and have more energy! Anyone else doing a health challenge? I'm also adding in TTapp work outs which I love and I know will get me results if I actually DO it haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: 10 day grain detox starting tomorrow
We are supposed to be sugar free (did it in January and have slipped a bit but am 7kg lighter without exercise) and recently I have found my body works better without gluten.
But I'm getting hungry. Feel like that means I haven't added enough other things to my diet. Thoughts please? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Re: 10 day grain detox starting tomorrow
I just did two weeks 100% raw vegan as a "reset" and to detox from refined sugar and processed foods. Now I'm about 80% raw (still no processed foods or sweeteners) and have no sugar cravings whatsoever. I'm also exercising at least 5 days a week and feel better than I have in a long time.

Re: 10 day grain detox starting tomorrow
How's it going?
The first few days are hard, but it will get easier. I have never done a Whole 30, and I am not 100 percent grain free (I will eat quinoa and the occasional gluten free oats) but I am avoiding most grains and almost no sugar (I did have some ketchup yesterday, and my smoothie/ protein powder has evaporated cane juice in it, and I will use maple syrup sparingly). It is getting easier every day. I do not crave the carbs and processed food like I used to at all. SalH, I found that in the past when I tried to give up foods, I did not know what to add so I got hungry and frustrated. I was not eating enough nutrient dense goods. I had to eat more vegetables, and I learned to add things like sunflower seeds, avocado, or shredded coconut/hemp seeds to my foods when I eat them so they are more satisfying for longer. I knew I could snack on blueberries, but having a bowl of blueberries topped with some almonds or coconut was better. Sprinkling pumpkin and sunflower seeds on my salad or adding 1/8 an avocado with some cilantro would make it more satisfying.
