Gentle discipline is so worth it

Our family was having an impromptu family discussion last night about many things on our children's hearts. It was a great discussion and I am so blessed to be the mom of children with such beautiful hearts. At one point my son said that he wanted to do what was right because he knew that his Dad and I loved him and because he loved us, not because he was afraid he would be punished.

I whispered through my happy tears to my husband that we had succeeded.

And this conversation would not have been possible except for all I've learned over the years through GCM, so thank you to all of you who have poured your life into mine as I've sought grace for myself and my children.

So I encourage all of you to stay the course. At the proper time, you will reap the harvest of gentle discipline.

Thank you for sharing that. It is really beautiful to see fruit.

This is a great place to learn about gentle discipline and raising our children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. It's wonderful to have a place where these are compatible ideas.
