Need to paint my house - paralyzed to choose colors
Our landlord has asked us to paint the house because of some damage and kids writing on the walls. I need some help picking out colors. I have a couple areas I love, but need help on other areas.
I love the color of this bathroom. And I like the color of the hallway that adjoins the bathroom. But don't like the peachy color in the kitchen We need to paint all the rooms of the house... Kitchen, living room, 3 bedrooms and possibly 2 bathrooms (the second is off our bedroom and currently all white.) Help!

I love picking colors!
Did your landlord give you any restrictions on colors or free reign?

Free reign! Figure out a time and you could come over!
---------- Post added at 07:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:53 PM ---------- The room I really want to figure out is the one my youngest 2 (ds3 & did) are sharing. It is pink. And the oldest boys room is white.

Re: Need to paint my house - paralyzed to choose colors
Is there any artwork or themes you'd like to match? What colors are the other rooms in the home?

The bathroom picture has a picture of a wall hanging I like for in there. I have another one picture in the living room that I like some of colors. The living room is white with a brown accent wall. It also has brown short shag carpeting. Our bedroom is brown. ---------- Post added at 08:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:04 PM ---------- The hallway picture you can see the color of the carpet in the hallway/living room (brown) and the bedrooms (cream berber). ---------- Post added at 08:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:06 PM ---------- So to have all the colors in one post Master bed - brown (can change colors but doesn't have too, something that coordinates with gray would be better) Bathroom off master - white (accent color on upper walls to be added currently ALL white) Main bathroom - teal (keep this color) Younger kids room - pink (must change) Older boys room - white (want to change) Hallway - green (like but could change) Living room - white with a brown accent wall (would like to change, probably not keep all brown, but willing for an accent wall) Kitchen - peach with white cabinets and white subway tile countertop (really would like to change) ---------- Post added at 08:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:13 PM ---------- Planning to keep the trim/doors white.

Re: Need to paint my house - paralyzed to choose colors
Yea, I usually pick paint colours from existing decor. We just painted our family room and I used the furniture colours to help me pick the paint colour.
When I did our bedroom, I used one of the colours from our bedding to pick the wall colour. So I say let's talk this through one room at a time. Tell us what room you want and post pictures of the decor you plan to use for it.

Re: Need to paint my house - paralyzed to choose colors
I'll get some pictures in the daylight of our comforter and bedroom furniture.
Right now I'm not planning to change the hallway or bathroom - just freshen them up and and cover holes we have fixed.

Re: Need to paint my house - paralyzed to choose colors
I was going to recommend teal but I see you already have a room that color, I love teal! What do you think about a soft yellow for the kitchen? For the rooms maybe off white/beige? Soft light brown like sand, maybeva shade of green or orange for the kids' room? Just throwing some ideas into the air lol
---------- Post added at 02:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:28 PM ---------- Oooohhh maybe a shade of dark violet as an accent wall in living room too! |

Re: Need to paint my house - paralyzed to choose colors
Since you hate the colour of the kitchen, that's where I would start. The kitchen is also the heart of the home, and one of the rooms a family spends most their time in, so what better room to make feel amazing first.
Any thoughts of what colours you're leaning towards?
