ISO Free Spy and Adware Removal software

On my old PC, I have Super Anti spyware and Malware Bytes.
I was just wondering if there is anything new/better out there these days for PC's.
I was looking on Cnet, but I was not sure what to search for, so I thought I'd ask.

I'm hearing that Microsoft's own built in security is actually better these days than stuff you install. What version of Windows are you running?

Malware Bytes is what my DH's friend who works with this stuff said to use as a go-to.

Windows 10. Just got the PC yesterday, so I don't know what is on it. I want something I can run every couple of days to get rid of the ads of every single item I might have shopped for, and tracking things, more than truly malicious stuff.

I wonder if clearing your history/cache/cookies regularly would be enough?

I use Firefox browser with Noscript and Adblock installed as add-ons. I think those help.

Also, I just got a new laptop (yay!!) with Windows 10 (I plan to install Linux on it, so I won't actually be using Windows) and it says it came with McAfee. If Windows' own Microsoft Security is so good, then why is Windows 10 shipping with third party security software??
