100% RAW "Better Than Cheeze-It" cracker recipe
These are SOOO much better than real cheese crackers. I eat tons of them and still lose weight. Try them and you'll be making them to keep on hand every day!
1/2 red bell pepper 1/4 cup water 1 cup cashews, soaked 2 hours 1 TBSP tahini 2 TBSP nutritional yeast 1 1/2 tsp salt 2 tsp onion powder 1 clove garlic (1/2 tsp minced) 2 TBSP lemon juice optional: diced jalapeno Blend all in food processor or blender until there are no more chunks. Spread thinly on dehydrator sheets and dehydrate until crispy. Store in ziplock bags in the fridge. Enjoy! |

could you use an oven on low heat instead of a dehydrator? if so, how would you do that? what temp?

I just pulled them out of the dehydrator. The whole house smells like cheddar cheese. I'm. in. heaven!

I've "dehydrated" things in the oven before by spreading it on a cookie sheet, leaving the oven door cracked and setting it to "warm" or as low as possible.

what about the nutritional yeast? Is that different from the yeast I have for baking?

Once some more snow melts and I feel comfortable driving to the health food store across town to nab some nutritional yeast and tahini, I am soooo going to make these in my new Excaliber!

I can't do the cashews...or nuts of any kind. What would you substitute ?
and what in the world is tahini ? It sounds exotic..like a cocktail. Is it a drink ? I like drinks. |
