Re: eyebrows - what's the deal?
In one case, someone I know has great picture makeup, I've seen her in person and I can see all the contouring and highlights and liners. But the same day she'll post a selfie that looks great. What works for pictures, a 2D medium, just doesn't work the same way in person.

Re: eyebrows - what's the deal?
I was once at Sephora to get recommendations for foundation and the person helping me asked if I wanted matte foundation (better for pictures) or something that looked dewy (better for irl).
A cheesy clip about this tool came through my FB feed. This video is a tutorial on how to use the Brow Buddy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJKT6I8jfG4

Re: eyebrows - what's the deal?
Yes, young people need that video. That eyebrow shaping is exactly what I read about in a makeup book when I was young. Only thing I don't do is alter the arch, I just go with my natural shape. Another tip I read then that worked for me was regularly brushing my eyebrows. I used to have some hairs that didn't go the right way. That book said keep brushing them and that would change. I don't remember how long it took but all my eyebrow hair points the right way since.

Re: eyebrows - what's the deal?
Yes! I learned how to pluck my eyebrows exactly like that from reading a seventeen magazine in like 1994 lol I still do it the same way, and don't alter anything, just follow the natural arch

Re: eyebrows - what's the deal?
People follow trends. Sometimes they just don't have the skills to do it properly . . . . .

Re: eyebrows - what's the deal?
I ended up buying yellow and green colour correcting pens, lol! I saw a demo and was intrigued. I've only used them twice, but it's fun. I think they help. I guess this is what happens when you put yourself on a lipstick buying break.

Re: eyebrows - what's the deal?
I love using peach concealer under my eyes - it cancels out dark circles so well!

Re: eyebrows - what's the deal?
The peach one was sold out. Now I know why. I have been using the yellow under my eyes because the shadows look kinda purplish.
