Varicose Veins?
I've started getting a few varicose veins on the top of my foot/ankle the last few years. This winter they have gotten a lot worse...I'm stressing about wearing sandals this summer. Both feet have bulgy squiggly veins on top. One has just started to go up my leg from my ankle. I have seen a lot of natural treatments online, but not sure any of it would work. I'm overweight...I've lost 35 pounds but still have about 60 more to lose. I'm hoping that they won't get worse in the meantime.
Anyone have any success treating them?

Re: Varicose Veins?
Probably not the answer you are looking for, but I had surgery on a vein on the back of my knee over 10 years ago. Never came back. It wasn't painful but looked awful. I was so self conscious about it. I had to wear compression stockings, which could help you but sure are hot!

Re: Varicose Veins?
If the source is a faulty valve and it causes fatigue (as in you get tired just from standing) or they are forming clots, these can be removed with insurance coverage. For just appearance, they can still be removed as a cosmetic surgery.

Re: Varicose Veins?
I've thought about getting some compression stockings. I've looked at them but wasn't sure I was getting the right size. If they are too loose or too tight they don't work, right? I haven't seen a doctor about them yet. Do I see my primary care?

Some nutritional things that might help:
collagen (either as a supplement or in bone broth) vitamin K2 MK7 https://www.newhope.com/health-condi...ascular-health cutting back on sugar and processed foods as much as possible. I would see your primary care to ask about options. Last edited by Soliloquy; 06-24-2019 at 11:08 AM. |

Re: Varicose Veins?
See your primary care doctor and they can refer you to a vein clinic. Insurance will cover them if it causes certain issues.

Re: Varicose Veins?
I have a few patches of spider veins on my legs - they don't bulge so they are purely a cosmetic issue. I've found that a little concealer actually does a nice job of covering them up. Waterproof is best. There's actually body make-up designed to cover things like that, but I haven't tried it.
