Re: Anyone else avoiding after-Christmas cleanup?
Trash and stuff is cleaned up. I just don't want to put the decorations up yet because then it means the season is over

Re: Anyone else avoiding after-Christmas cleanup?
I typically leave the tree up too long but this year it needs to come down right after the new year. We will hopefully be tearing our downstairs apart in the next few months for a redo so I need to get everything in order.
As for clean up I let my little guy keep his toys under the tree until it goes down as I did as a child. We HAD to keep our toys under the tree on Christmas day & sometimes they lingered. We clean up paper as gifts are unwrapped. there are only 3 of us & we don't go over board. |

Re: Anyone else avoiding after-Christmas cleanup?
I got almost everything done once the kids were in bed. I do need to work on their bedrooms a little bit tomorrow, but it's not anything too bad. I like leaving Christmas decorations up for a bit, so I'm not planning much of anything there just yet.

Re: Anyone else avoiding after-Christmas cleanup?
We clean up all the paper and trash right away, and we had in-laws here for the afternoon and evening, so we even vacuumed again and put away a lot of stuff.
I never take Christmas tree or decorations down until at least new year's. Last year January 6 (Epiphany), which I think we will continue so we can have the Twelve Days of Christmas. |

Re: Anyone else avoiding after-Christmas cleanup?
My kids each got a classic Lego set $15, sale) with 540 pieces each.
Both dumped them on the floor today to build some of the ideas. That's what I came home to after doctor appointment!!

Washing machine trays are great for making kids play with their legos on!

Re: Anyone else avoiding after-Christmas cleanup?
We clean up the paper as presents are unwrapped. But everything else clean up wise was very low priority. Instead, I took two or three naps that day and a nap the next day. Dh also took a nap the next day and today. It was glorious. Will have the house back in order by Friday but meanwhile, we are happily rested.
