What is going on??? a.k.a. homemade cashew milk adventures

So I made some cashew milk at some point over the weekend (I don't remember exactly when). I left it sitting on the counter for quite a while draining out of the pulling itself. We haven't needed any since and when I went to use it this morning it was really thick like egg whites. Any clue what has happened to my milk? It doesn't smell funny. Can I still use it for something? I'm scared to taste it because I don't know what's up. Can anyone help me out?

No advice either. I've never made cashew milk, only purchased.

But I recommend changing the title to include something about homemade cashew milk... I know there are lots of people on this board who have experience with it who just may not be clicking on the link....

I'm not familiar at all with non-dairy milks, but hopefully that might help.

thank-you. I left it in the fridge and today when I looked at it the milk is full of bubbles. I guess I'll just have to throw it out but it seems so wasteful

Well back in our glutenous days I could have made some sort of sour milk choc cake with some of it but I don't have any such recipes now...maybe I'll look before I pitch it

My cashews slime like that if I leave them to soak too long, even when I change the water. Cashews are so expensive so I understand not wanting to waste them.

Well, in the meantime they have returned to a more creamy consistency but still bubbly and sour smelling. The biscuits turned out fine yesterday and so I had dh use it instead of coconut milk in the pancakes this morning.
