Re: Zaycon meat
Oh yea, that's what I have to do now when I buy from the grocery store. Very time consuming.

Re: Zaycon meat
Can't you just lay them on a cookie sheet, flash freeze them, and then throw them in ziplocs? That is what I do when I buy meat in packages with various pieces.

Re: Zaycon meat
Oh yea, that's what I do. Well, I put in the ziplocs before freezing and then throw the ziplocs in the freezer. But that's even one less step. Works fine. But still time consuming, especially when dealing with large quantities. And also takes up a lot of ziploc bags, which can add up in price.
I was just thinking it'd be ideal if they came in individual vacuum sealed packages. ETA: I guess I just mean that since Zaycon prices are the same or slightly more than local grocery store sale prices, and it requires purchasing in such large quantities, without any added bonus it wouldn't be worth it for me.

Re: Zaycon meat
I throw a whole bunch in a gallon Ziploc. It would be a ton of bags to do them individually! Once they are frozen they don't stick.

Re: Zaycon meat
Ooooh. I do them separately like I do because I like to thaw one or two at a time, but you're right, the freezing first then putting in ziplock bags would still allow me to still do that while using less bags! Brilliant!

Re: Zaycon meat
Yep, just like when you buy a bag of chicken breasts at the store. Much less time, waste, and money!

Re: Zaycon meat
I have only ordered one thing from Zaycon, so I do not have experience with the chicken. I ordered the frozen shrimp and it is so good.
It does not have that icky briney taste that frozen shrimp usually has. It comes in frozen in 2 pound bags. I would order it again. Shrimp is such a super quick meal, no matter the cooking method, and it even though it is expensive it is cheaper than take-away, and since it is so fast, I can just cook it on busy nights that I would otherwise get take away.
