Re: December dinner
I made baked ziti last night for us and for the high school all nighter at church. I used this recipe for the tomato sauce in it.

Re: December dinner
DH smoked two turkeys today - we brine them overnight and then baste them and they are SO GOOD. We'll debone them and freeze the meat in small bags and can pull it out for quick easy suppers all year long.
Tonight we're having smoked turkey with cranberry-sauced-and-roasted sweet potatoes and onions. Combine 1/4 c cranberry sauce (I make my own), 1 tsp salt, 2 T oil, 2 T balsamic vinegar. Toss with one diced sweet potato and one diced onion and roast at 400 for 30-40 minutes. I think DH actually doubled it (those proportions are from a panzanella recipe) and is making plain baked sweet potato for the boys.

I make a similar recipe but with boneless and I end up shredding the chicken and serving the whole thing over rice. I think the option of doing it with bone in too. Gives us some variety.

Re: December dinner
I pulled leftovers from the freezer and fridge - turkey, cornbread dressing, cranberry sauce, and sauteed okra.
