Could this be a concussion?
On Tuesday early bird and I were playing where she was practicing ballet jumps and I was lifting her up. I told her that this was the last one. And then set her down.
She then jumped again and collided with my chin. I bit both sides of my toung it was bleeding as were my gums. I immediately felt dizzy and nauseous and my ears were ringing a tiney bit. After the 30 min to drive home I felt fine except for my toung and neck were a bit sore. Wendsday I didn't think about it at all. On Thursday I had a migraine starting and took Excedrin. Latter I was reading to wiggle worm in one of our arm chairs and early bird climed on the back and in the process of doing that knocked her head against mine. It wasn't hard at all but I immediately felt nauseous and my ears were ringing a bit. This time it lasted for 5 or 6 hours, untill I could go to bed. My ears stoped ringing an hour or so before I went to bed. Some of that was made much worse because the girls were being very loud. Sence Thursday one of my eye lids has been twitching occasionally, I have neaver had it happen this frequently. Friday I had a light lingering headake that was mainly learking in the back of my head trying to hurt, I didn't take anything. Today, Saturday my head started hurting ( we have storms moving in and the prusher is really high and it would be common for me to get a migraine) I took Excedrin trying to get in front of the pain. But the pain is continuing to increase. I am trying to sort normal migrane from pocible concussion. I would appreciate any insight or advice at this point. Thank you.

Re: Could this be a concussion?
I wouldn't think concussion unless your head was hit hard.

Re: Could this be a concussion?
It's possible but with the storms I'm not sure. My head has been hurting off and on since Wednesday, and I get nausea and sensitivity due to pressure/sinus headaches. It's worse when I move or get bumped. Is there anyone who can check your neurological function, a neighbor who's a nurse or someone like that? Can you can your insurance's nurseline?

Re: Could this be a concussion?
Maybe it's more like whiplash ? But whiplash isn't only a neck issue, it is an issue where the brain moves back and forth within the skull. I've had headaches like that with both whiplash and concussion so I think it would be really hard to tell the difference. I'm so sorry.

Re: Could this be a concussion?
I don't know, but I wanted to give hugs. I'm sorry it's been so very unpleasant and lasted for so many days. I will pray.

Re: Could this be a concussion?
I was told A concussion has nothing to do w how hard the impact was having had 4 the past 15 months, Im not super articulate but will try to explain how my doc (who is an international boxing doc) explained it.
When your head is in motion and impact occurs, your brain spins inside your skull usually hitting the skull and causing a bruise or bruises. When u r sitting still and hit the Amt of impact is important because it takes a higher amt of impact to cause your brain to hit the skull. but moving and hitting your head you could barely tap it and have a concussion based on angle, what you are doing, how fast you were moving, etc. More important are symptoms than a significant impact. Number of times you hit your head. And age. Children respond fastest as their bodies heal fastest. The older you get the worse the concussion. and my understanding is whiplash and concussion are indeed closely related. Difference is whiplash the brain doesn't hit the skull but moves within the skull. What I would do is ask yourself if you have the warning sides of a concussion and determine if u need medical treatment.
