Cal/mag - what's the best ratio?

Not sure, but the multivitamin my Dr put me on has 500 mg Calcium, 250 mg Magnesium, and 15 mg Zinc and the additional supplement he suggested is that much per pill 3 times/day (for a daily total of 2000mg Cal, 1000mg Mag, 60 mg Zinc until my levels rise). So I would guess 2:1 Cal:Mag is at least a decent one...

IME if your magnesium and vitamin D are on the low side I'd focus on that first. You need them to absorb the calcium. I aim for a 1:1 ratio.
