What's for dinner in January?
Happy New Year to all of you!!!
It's a new Year so maybe we have some new dishes we want to try or old favorites that we will never give up. Whatever the case, we'd love to hear what you are having for dinner in January, and hopefully along the way we will discover some of those new dishes we want to add to our dinner menus! Tonight we are having sausage and sauerkraut and macaroni and cheese. Sauerkraut on New Year's Day is my family's tradition.

Re: What's for dinner in January?
Yummy! I love sauerkraut
DH is out of town today and tomorrow, so I'm just going to have a salad tonight. I'm going to make him some homemade sourdough bread for when he comes home, though

Re: What's for dinner in January?
I'm thinking about making pierogies today but I would have to freeze them because my oldest will not be happy if we eat them without him. So probably just whatever potatoes are left over and some turkey that I have in the fridge.

Tomato soup and grilled cheese on homemade french bread. I recently got french bread to turn out.I tried it 10 years ago,but hadn't figured bread out yet. And I'm going to try my new immersion blender on the tomato soup!

Re: What's for dinner in January?
I made a good soup yesterday that we'll have tonight. I cooked a ham bone all day, then cooked pinto beans in the broth after they had soaked. I added chopped ham, sliced carrots, garlic, dry mustard, and s&p. I used my immersion blender for just a minute to thicken it up. My dd said it's delicious, and she rarely likes soup.

Re: What's for dinner in January?
I think we'll have leftover turkey soup tonight. Really need the space back in my fridge. Might make rolls or biscuits to go with it.

Re: What's for dinner in January?
We're supposed to have company tonight if the roads aren't icy: tacos, mexican rice, cilantro lime black beans, lettuce tomato ranch salad, chips and homemade pico de gallo. If the roads are too icy for company, we'll probably still have some version of the above.

Re: What's for dinner in January?
We have sick littles, so I had a shake for supper, and I don't know what dh had. I was planning to make sweet and sour chicken, but I hated to make it on a night when so many wouldn't be eating.
