Smart Bulb recommendations?
I'm frustrated with trying a smart bulb that isn't quite doing what I hoped. Anyone have on that fits this bill?
Full spectrum like daylight, preferably with color options Dimmable Programmable with sunrise/sunset...you can tell it to start at red/orange at 6am, and have it gradually brighten to full spectrum by 6:30....and dim in a similar progression in the evening from white to red slowly and gradually...as a SETTING that repeats itself every day without messing with it. Not reliant on a smart phone. Compatible with a laptop, for instance, or maybe Alexa/Siri/Google Home. What's driving me nuts about the current option is that you can't bring it online w/o a phone. It can be dimmed, but only by using the app manually...so it's a choppy and non-automatic process. It says programmable, but you can only set a time for on/off. It turns on exactly how you left it...100% bright, 80%, 50%, etc. So you can't dim at bedtime then program it to be a bright alarm. Anyone like one like this?

Re: Smart Bulb recommendations?
I think it is, but I'm frustrated that what I bought isn't quite that. I know I saw some that said "sunset/sunrise timer." I'm just frustrated trying to find the right combo of key words...I thought this one was it--dimmable, programmable, full color...but it doesn't have the sunrise timer which was my main goal.
Light is a big deal to circadian rhythms...I want to dim it near bedtime on purpose, and want it bright in the morning, but it defeats the purpose of being an alarm clock if I have to wake up first to fool with it to manually turn it back up from where I left it at bedtime. I'm hoping someone will chime in with one they're using instead of having to experiment. There are a bazillion variations on Amazon.

No, it was an off brand, I think. Willing to order a Hue if it works.

Re: Smart Bulb recommendations?
As far as I know, all the lights and bulbs that are programmable rely on an app through a phone or tablet. Sorry. If you find one that isn't, please share!
Try asking at Lowe's or Home Depot. |
