Persimmons
Someone gave me a bunch of persimmons, I have 12 now. I've only ever eaten them plain, but I can't eat 12 before they go bad what can I do with them? When I looked it up I found a bunch of super fancy, involved recipes. I like cooking, but I'm not making Marsala pork loin with spicy mustard greens and broiled persimmons this week...
Any ideas?

Re: Persimmons
We peel them, cut them into wedges (removing a bit of the "core") and eat them like apple slices. My family would be able to eat a box before they went bad.
If you want to bake with them you could probably add them to a fruit mixture for a crisp, dice them to use in muffins, or freeze them in chunks to snack on (we are big frozen fruit eaters in all seasons so this would work in my house).

Re: Persimmons
I didn't know if they would freeze that's a good idea. DC and I are the only ones who eat them.

Re: Persimmons
My grandma used to do a lot of baking with them. Nothing complicated at all, just like quick bread, cake, etc. Plus if you bake them all up now and freeze the baked goods you have yummy surprises in the freezer for later .
