My Dad is a retired Navy pilot. His dad served in the Army in WWII.

I know we have at least one member who is a military veteran. Thank you for your service, Redeemed!

Today I remember my paternal grandfather, an air force veteran. Happy Memorial Day in Heaven, Grandpa!

Oh, yeah, and my uncle who was a soldier killed in Afghanistan.

Today we remember those who have fallen in the line of duty. It's a good day to ask grandparents about family members who died in service. We have vets in the family, but we honor those on Veterans' Day.

Today I am grateful for all the men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our country. And I especially think of those who have done so recently as it's no longer as valued in our culture.

My grandfathers of the Revolution so long ago who fought to make them possible.
