Every time I try to drink more water I get a headache
Why is that?
I drank one and a half 500ml bottles over 4-5 hours. I'm now peeing way more than I've drunk, which is also weird, but now I have a headache. |

What happens if you drink something like Gatorade? Dr. Sears has a "laboraide" recipe that's a healthier version of that. Could be an electrolyte issue.

Could it be what is added to water? I've heard several people say they are sensitive to whatever they add to tap water and some bottled waters.

Re: Every time I try to drink more water I get a headache
I've wondered about both of those; I know water is fluoridated in our area. Can fluoride cause headaches? I don't buy bottled water enough to know if I do it with that too.
My big concern is the electrolytes thing. When I had all my recurrent miscarriage testing they tested everything and my kidney results came back consistently as 'slightly abnormal'. They weren't getting worse and they said that the result was explicable with the fact that I had recurrent bladder/kidney infections as a child. The word kidney damage was never used but it was kind of the impression I got This was a couple of years ago so I can't remember exactly but I'm sure they said that the results imply my kidneys are over active. That would leave me more at risk of electrolyte imbalance, right? Drinks go through me ridiculously fast and if I drink a decent amount in a short period I end up peeing more than I drank in the first place. I cannot complete the bladder holding procedure they ask for for my ultrasounds or I literally wet myself. I'm having to watch my salt intake this pregnancy; if I don't get enough good salt then I start having dizzy spells. I am peeing every half an hour and still feeling thirsty I haven't drunk an electrolyte drink in ages as all the ones I've found seem to have artificial sweeteners or dyes in and I don't like coconut water. I need to look and see if I can find one that works for me |

Agree that if can manage the homemade electrolyte or coconut water would be best - it is great for electrolytes.Do you have something like Smartwater where you are? Would try that if no coconut water. I personally wouldnt do the gatorade because of artifical stuff and bromides and color

How are your sugars?
When I haven't been drinking enough water and I increase my intake, I do pee a lot more for a bit, and then the body adjusts a bit and it goes back to normal. So if you've only tried it for a day or two, it might be that adjustment period. But, like I said...maybe get your sugars checked? |

Re: Every time I try to drink more water I get a headache
I have no idea about my sugars. I can ask at my next appointment but the still being thirsty thing calmed down after a while.

Re: Every time I try to drink more water I get a headache
It gave me headaches with my most recent bebe as well. Allison suggested it was maybe due to increased blood volume.
