Sanitizing tub toys
I typically clean his tub & toys with a homemade solution (Dr. Bonner's/TTO/water & whatever other EO I feel like adding at the moment - sometimes it's thieves oil if I've made some) but sometimes they just come out really gross. Recently he took a bath & there was a black ring around the tub. That's never happened & I didn't even realize he'd been that dirty in the two days since his last bath. I do have a shark steamer but it's a pain sometimes & I don't know if all of his toys could withstand the steam. They need a good soaking so I'm currently soaking the toys & the tub with Dr. Bonner's, some basil, oregano, & thyme because I ran out of TTO. I hope that does the trick.
Hubby HATES the smell of vinegar & can smell it hours after I've used it despite open windows, vents blowing, incense, etc. so I try to limit that. Also, what other EO's would be good in a cleaner besides TTO? I have Oregano, Basil, Thyme, Lavender, Lemon (I use this in my dusting solution), Geranium, Orange, Eucalyptus, I'm looking for anti-bacterial/anti-fungal ones. Thanks |

Re: Sanitizing tub toys
Oregano is very antifungal... and whatever's in Thieves blend is good antibacterial... I know lemon is in that... I'd have to go double-check what the others are.

Re: Sanitizing tub toys
We didn't sanitize. Just tossed when/if we saw mold and now Little People toys are the rage.

I rinse him off with the shower after he takes a bath because well, he's been sitting in all the filth that was on him since his last bath. So his toys are getting all of that as well. If he'd let me give him a shower every bath day I'd avoid the whole toy issue all together |
