White Kitchen Cabinets with Dark Brown Table and Furniture?

Imagine yourself moving into a new condo, and the kitchen and living area are like one extended room. You chose white kitchen cabinets and dark brown vinyl comfort plank flooring (like laminate that looks like dark brown hardwood) that runs throughout the kitchen and living area. The question is... can you use dark brown for the kitchen table, chairs, and living room furniture such as TV stand, etc? Or is that going to look wrong with white cabinets? I don't want to have a white kitchen table and chairs, and I find myself drawn to the dark brown (the "brown black" or black brown" furniture sold at IKEA) as far as all the furnishings go. Do tables, chairs, and all furniture in a room have to "match" cabinets? Or is it ok to put white cabinets with dark brown furniture? I realize I "can do anything I want", but I don't want it to look ridiculous after putting out a bunch of money.

Thoughts pleeeeeeeeeeeease?

I don't think they have to match the cabinets, I'd just be concerned with them going with the floor.

Is it already done?

If the cabinets and floor aren't already done, I'd think about making the cabinets and furniture the dark that you like, with a lighter floor.

If it's already done...I'll let the ladies with more experience speak up.

Not by choice, but I have white kitchen cabinets. We also bought a new table and chairs/benches when we moved and I think they look fine all together.

. Our flooring is light, though.

I don't think everything has to match. Actually, I find matchy matchy less comfortable. However, It would bother me if the floor and the furniture where too close in color. That could be solved with a throw rug of sorts but I totally understand not wanting a rug under the dining table. We have carpet in our dining room and I hate it.

I wouldn't think the furniture and cabinets have to match. . . as far as dark flooring and dark furniture, my brother and his girlfriend just renovated and that's what they did (haven't re-done their kitchen yet, I think they're actually planning to leave the oak cabinets as they are) They do have a throw rug under the table and coffee table though, it might look weird w/o a rug? I don't remember if the tv stand was wood or something else . . . the tv was wall-mounted but there WAS some kind of shelves under it w/ wii and such on it, but I don't remember what.

I think the dark furniture would be fine with the white cabinets. I'd be worried about it matching the floor.
