" as long as I position the door JUST RIGHT, it looks relatively tidy"
That seriously cracked me up. I have done this hoping people will just assume it's clean, lol! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: EEEEK! I Need Accountability!
It gets funnier! So that worked, as far as I know, for the day this thread was about (last week). But then on Sunday, my uncle (the aunt mentioned above was my mom's sister, this is my mom's brother) called this week HE was visiting my grandmother (my parents live near her but are on an extended trip, so the siblings were trying to keep her from being lonely, and I think, once they got here, realized that there's nothing to DO with her for all that time . . . ) and since she'd seemed to enjoy coming up here, he thought it would be a good idea to come again, sigh . . . but at least (a) he's a guy (his wife wasn't with him) and (b) things were still relatively good from last week. So I did normal straightening and stuff and again, positioned the door just right! All well and good UNTIL . . . he asked if there was someplace quiet/private he could go to make a work-related phone call our house is very open plan, living/dining/kitchen all one big space. Our bedroom was the only logical choice (it's on the main floor, upstairs is the girls' bedroom and the school room, both pretty messy and not really logical to send him to the kids' bedroom instead of ours), sigh . . . I just said "sure, don't mind the mess" and hopefully he's as oblivious to clutter as my husband and father are, but made me laugh at how I'd carefully made sure the room LOOKED clean, all for naught . . .
