Shrimp recipes
I just picked up 20 pounds of shrimp from Zaycon foods.
That is enough for 10 meals. Shrimp should be great because it cooks so quickly, but other than scampi and stir fry, I am not sure what to do with it. Anyone have any good recipes they love?

Re: Shrimp recipes
What about something like popcorn shrimp? Breaded and baked.... Never tried it myself but I know my kids would probably love something like that.
You could do a wide variety of simple pasta dishes. A shrimp fettucine sounds good. ---------- Post added at 10:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:47 PM ---------- This looks really good! Bruschetta Shrimp Pasta: http://www.delish.com/cooking/recipe...-pasta-recipe/ If you like avocado, this looks pretty amazing too. Shrimp salad stuffed avocados: http://www.delish.com/cooking/recipe...vocado-recipe/ You could also serve them cold on top of a salad if your family is in to salads... Even something like this: Shrimp Taco Salad: http://www.delish.com/cooking/recipe...-salad-recipe/ Sorry, nothing tried and true. We rarely if ever have shrimp on hand. Just got caught up in google...

Re: Shrimp recipes
I bought (frozen) shrimp for the first time the other week. I saw some recipes that looked interesting. I've never cooked it before, didn't grow up eating it, and have only really enjoyed it a couple of times. But I'd like it to become something I cooked sometimes. Shrimp and grits. Gumbo.

Re: Shrimp recipes
Typically, I do not enjoy frozen shrimp and think it is too briney and does not taste shrimpy. DH had been asking for some, so when I saw the Zaycon shrimp, I thought I'd try it.
I made some tonight and it did not have that weird taste. It was really good! I made this http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/c...-curry-shrimp/ I roasted some cauliflower and added it to people's bowls, along with cilantro. I did not use the basil. DH wants shrimp and grits next. I will also do a low modified low country boil. DH would love that bruschetta shrimp pasta. I have enough for 6-7 meals. What I think is nice about shrimp and fish is that you can have dinner on the table in 20 minutes. It is more expensive than most dinners I cook at home, but cheaper than take away for a family of 8. I estimated $17 for tonight's meal.

Re: Shrimp recipes
I love marinating shrimp in lime, jalapeno, cilantro, garlic, s&p, olive oil and then saute it quickly in a skillet. The last time I made this shrimp, I served them with rice, black beans, and guacamole.

That curry dish looks delicious! But I'm a huge fan of anything coconut milk curry.
Let us know what else you end up trying.
