Re: What tea (s) do you drink?
Caffeine in tea gives me symptoms similar to blood sugar crashing, so I kind of avoid caffeinated teas.
So, want some awesome tisanes? Celestial Seasonings Bengal Spice Numi Dry Desert Lime Silk Road Seamist -- it has seaweed in it, and mint, and it's just differently awesome. |

What are tisanes?
I have recently become unable to drink caffeinated coffee. I'm having trouble finding good tea because I'm concerned about origin,lead,etc.. Last edited by MamaSam; 02-14-2015 at 03:44 PM. |

Re: What tea (s) do you drink?
Tisanes are herbal teas, basically. According to the purists, to be a "tea" it must actually contain...tea!
So if it doesn't contain tea (black, white or green) then it should be called a tisane instead. I had to look this up at Christmas because my father wanted tea for Christmas. "NOT tisanes!" So I had to make sure I knew what a tisane was! Basically, he wanted his caffeine. |

I like this one that has caffeine in it: Yogi brand "Sweet Tangerine Positive Energy" I kind of giggle at the name... I'm not sure if it actually elevates my mood (?), but the name makes me smile, so I guess in a way it does. https://www.yogiproducts.com/teas/sw...sitive-energy/ I also like Earl Grey tea, but I buy it decaffeinated. I started drinking it because Captain Picard (from Star Trek the Next Generation) drinks it. Quote:
I didn't remember what tisanes are. That is good to know! I like peppermint a lot and chamomile. I also like this one: Traditional Medicinals Chamomile with Lavender http://www.traditionalmedicinals.com...mile-lavender/ In the summer I love to make lemonbalm and mint tea from herbs in my garden.

Re: What tea (s) do you drink?
Dh drinks assam black tea religiously. He has for all the years we have been together. I go back and forth between "his" tea and green tea, and or rooibos. Plus I am drinking a lot of herbal "tisanes" lately. Red clover, dandelion, red rasberry, pau d'arco, and catnip to name a few.

Twinings Irish Breakfast. Republic of Tea's Blueberry Green Tea. And I use regular green tea and rooibos tea (er, tisane?) in my kombucha.
