How nice of your mom! She sounds really special.
We are having corn dogs. Tomorrow lunch is breakfast and no idea what will be for dinner.

Re: January's Dinners
We have homemade Qdoba pretty regularly. I make all the choices and everyone their own burrito, rice bowl, or salad. I usually use chicken but pork shoulder roasts were on sale for so cheap that I couldn't pass them up. I don't really like pork but I did like this recipe:
https://www.gimmesomeoven.com/instan...omment-1577735 I didn't have orange or lime juice so I subbed lemon juice for both. ---------- Post added at 09:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:04 PM ---------- Today I made potato corn chowder. Made enough for two nights plus probably lunch. I need to get really serious about making lots of hearty soups and chowders. My plan for this ski season is to bring thermoses full of soup. |

Re: January's Dinners
Last night we BBQ'd open-faced french onion burgers and a grilled corn/feta/cilantro salad.
Today I have family visiting so we're having our traditional german meal of bratwurst, german potato salad, sauerkraut and spaetzle.

I had sushi. Dd wouldn’t eat it, so she just had refried beans, rice, and guacamole.

Tonight is oven bakes falafel. Just realized I might not have enough pita. They can use hoagie rolls.

Re: January's Dinners
I have a plain old chicken in the crockpot. Now I just need to decide what to do with it. I'm so unimaginative lately. Maybe chicken tacos tonight.
