Moving to a house with stairs
We will be moving to a 2-story house for the first time in a few weeks. We have an almost 4 and almost 1.5 y/o. I assume we'll need a gate for the stairs? Two gates? Can anyone point me in the direction of a good one on Amazon? Anything else I'll need to know/consider?

Re: Moving to a house with stairs
We have this one at the base of the stairs (and another in a different part of the house), and one from IKEA at the top of the stairs.
http://www.amazon.com/KidCo-Safeway-...rds=stair+gate I'm really happy with the one in that link. We never use the one at the top of the stairs. I'm actually sad we wasted money on it and put holes in the wall. We just aren't up there much and my DD is really good about being safe on the stairs. We probably don't need the bottom one at this point, but it keeps her from running upstairs to wreck havoc on her room, splashing in upstairs toilet, dragging our clothes off their hangers... ETA: If I was JUST moving to a new house and my youngest was 1.5 (and I was done having kiddos), I'd probably not bother with gates.

Re: Moving to a house with stairs
We'll probably have more kids and my 1.5 is a bit of a climber/daredevil so I figured I would just go ahead and put them in place. My main concern is the top-probably paranoid but I have visions of them wondering around in the night and falling down the stairs even though my almost 4 comes straight to our room when she wakes in the night and the 1.5 y/o cries when he wakes and I go get him. All the bedrooms are on the 2nd floor but still...

Re: Moving to a house with stairs
if I was going to put a gate at the bottom I'd probably put it like 2 or 3 steps up so the lil bugger can learn to use stairs without having a massive wipeout.
