Re: sacrifice
Haven't read the whole thread yet, but....
I think for me the biggest sacrifices have happened inside my own heart. It became a sacrifice of laying down my WHOLE will into the hands of the Lord. I had to learn to lay down what I wanted to do, how I wanted to spend my time, what I thought was important, etc. I had to be willing to walk away from habits in my life that the Lord showed me were getting in the way of fulfilling the call to homeschool. I had to be willing to make the sacrifices to grow beyond my shortcomings. It was a call for me to look hard in the mirror and see what I was, and then become willing for God to change me as much as He wanted. That was hard to do. But I've grown so much in this time. Wouldn't trade it for the world. I agree that, once you find your niche with homeschooling, the blessings faaaaaarr outweigh the sacrifices. I would do it over and over and over again it I had that choice. HTH |

Re: sacrifice
I guess the only "sacrafice" I can think of would be the 2nd income. But Im not even sure that is a negative, really. (Less material things, simpler, etc)
I think I have MORE time for friends, MORE time for hobbies, MORE time for cleaning. HOW would one keep their home clean being gone all day, then having to cook dinner, homework, etc before bedtime? Seems harder. Seems like *I* would be sacrificing so much more if I did NOT homeschool.
