Homeschooling ideas (during pandemic)
Am seeing both here and facebook the need for ideas to keep kids engaged in learning and thought I'd start a thread to gather ideas that maybe we can all come back to --- tours of museums, your favorite tips, best kahn academy courses, best creative time ideas, etc.

Free resources for schooling at home right now
We have a lot of resources available while schools are closed.
Audible is streaming a selection of books for kids and teens free as long as schools are closed. https://stories.audible.com/start-listen IEW has made a three week language arts program for all levels free. I’m going to download this one even if I don’t use it right away! https://iew.com/three-weeks-of-langu...ction-from-iew 12 famous museums and some national parks have virtual tours, and the Metropolitan Opera is streaming opera every night. https://www.travelandleisure.com/att...Lhx75-QlcKXJ78 C-Span is offering their classroom resource free https://www.c-span.org/classroom/ There are lots of things to see at this link. https://www.thekidsandme.org/blog/ca...ids-activities

Re: Free resources for schooling at home right now
I started another thread about free resources, forgetting this one was here, so I've just merged the two threads, adding my post and heart of joy's to this thread. This week feels like months have passed! Sorry for the confusion, carry on!

Re: Homeschooling ideas (during pandemic)
I don't know if others will find this too close to home, but we've been watching a lot of documentaries on pandemics, viruses, and YouTube videos from biologists. We also made models of several viruses using play doh and pipe cleaners. They're actually quite interesting, visually and functionally.
