If you're low grain,
How do you get enough fiber? Cause I'm not.
My typical day is two hardboiled eggs for brekkie; a salad with chicken and dressing and a piece of fruit for lunch; and supper is whatever is on the menu. I ate sparingly of the noodles last night mostly because they're so high in calories. But I'm not getting enough fiber. Oh and snack. I usually munch on some almonds. Any suggestions on increasing the fiber in my diet?

Re: If you're low grain,
We use a lot of coconut and some coconut flour in snacks.

Re: If you're low grain,
A fruit or veggie at every meal and snack. Oh and green smoothies. And I sprinkle chia seeds on lots of things from my salad to on my sauteed shredded sweet potato. My favorite tho is chia pudding or in my majorly watered down cran-lemon juice.

Re: If you're low grain,
We do veggies with every meal. Breakfast example would be sautéed onion and shredded turnip hash with eggs, then a raw veg ferment on the side. An omelette would be an easy way to add veg, too.

Re: If you're low grain,
I eat breakfast and snacks at my desk so I'm limited to what I can eat easily between phone calls and such. I'm going to brain storm easier snacks to eat up here. Maybe dried fruit?

Re: If you're low grain,
Dried fruit is lots of sugar. It is best to avoid it. Eat fresh fruits and veggies. You can eat sugar snap peas, carrots, grapes, cut up apple or orange or mango etc..., cutie oranges, celery sticks, berries, grape tomatoes, raw broccoli pieces etc... all while sitting at a desk for breakfast or snack.

Re: If you're low grain,
I eat salads at my desk. I just avoid broccoli because it sticks in my teeth.
Honestly, we all eat at our desks at my work, so it's mostly ok. I do mainly because I only get a half hour lunch, at 1:30, and I'm hungry at 12. |

Re: If you're low grain,
We do tons of fruits and veggies.
Seeds and nuts are also fiber-rich. Almonds, pistachios, peanuts, walnuts, pecans.... Bonus that they'd be so super easy to keep at work and snack on when you're hungry.

Re: If you're low grain,
What makes you think you are not getting enough fiber? That sounds like plenty to me. My breakfast is an omelet that has some veggies in it but otherwise our menus are similar.

Re: If you're low grain,
I wouldn't avoid dried fruit "because of the sugar" you need fiber. Dried fruit is a good choice for that...not fifty pieces of it. Two.

Re: If you're low grain,
Yeah, I came to add in about chia. I love adding straight chia gel to whatever I am drinking because it adds a nice texture. And I love chia pudding too! I just saw some at Costco! I still prefer my homemade stuff though.
