Tampon w/ Tea Tree Oil?
A co-worker shared that she does this during her cycle to help reduce smell, and she also says it balances the pH...thoughts? Anyone done this before?

Re: Tampon w/ Tea Tree Oil?
I've heard of it for yeast, and presume it would work if there were a bacterial odor problem, but I'd be incredibly wary of using undiluted essential oil on such a sensitive area. I'm allergic to tea tree oil now just from using it on the back of my chapped winter-dry hands, since that meant the skin was damaged and therefore more delicate....the thought of intentionally putting it on a tampon... I would recommend doing a patch test somewhere else first, and proceed with extreme caution. ( ETA: And when I say proceed with extreme caution, I really mean that I'm astounded anyone would proceed at all, but if someone is determined to proceed, extreme, extreme caution...)

Re: Tampon w/ Tea Tree Oil?
I had tea tree oil on my finger and wasnt thinking and itched the inside of my nose . I would not like to replicate that feeling in the lady neighborhood . It sounds burny and terrifying .

No. Just no. Does you have a good relationship with this woman or is she out to get you?

Re: Tampon w/ Tea Tree Oil?
Tea tree is a very strong oil,is never supposed to be used straight w/o a carrier oil and is toxic to dogs.Soooo cant imagine putting that on a tampon

Re: Tampon w/ Tea Tree Oil?
I have heard of it, but will not be trying it
With proper hygiene practices, AF shouldn't exactly be a stinky thing anyway If she's getting a smell during AF she might want to get checked out for BV The fact that she's using it to 'balance pH' makes me think it might be an issue for her. I use vit C capsules to control my pH which I struggle with since my mcs. Much less ouchy |
