party foods
we're having a LARGE open house this coming weekend. it's a fall party, with outdoor fire...and at first we thought we'd buy some beef weiners to roast (along with our veggie dogs) but i don't want to do that. any other ideas of party foods that feed plenty of people??

Kabobs
grilled eggplant Grilled flatbread Hummus and tzatki (spelling) Grilled corn in the husk served with mayo, lime, and hot sauce Chili in the crockpot (top potatoes and\or make oven fries for chili cheese fries...chili, cheese or a sauce, hot sauce....) Grilled sweet potatoes grilled poblanos Hot punch Pie and crisp Pumpkin enchiladas (the recipe is from Martha Stewart\Everyday foods...I just use black beans instead of chicken...everyone loves them and wants to know what is in them) I can finally eat again. You could invite me

Re: party foods
I'd make a big crockpot of something bean based. I like homemade BBQ baked beans. I'd also have snacky/cold things around too like guacamole, veggies and dip, etc.
Plus then no one has to man the grill! Last edited by Starfox; 10-17-2010 at 04:52 PM. Reason: D'oh! Check the forum first! |
