cradle cap/dandruff on my 11 yo dd
Help! Today I looked at Wee and could see large flakes in her hair. I spent some time combing it out, but I'm sure it will come back. She's been dealing with it mildly for a long time. What can we do to cure it?

It's almost always fungal and using an antifungal shampoo as well as limiting sugar consumption should help.

Diluted ACV seems to be helping mine...the natural kind with the Mother.

We've used the T-Sal shampoo with one of my kids and it worked well.

Re: cradle cap/dandruff on my 11 yo dd
I would guess that it might sting directly. I googled and saw a lot of suggestions on strength. I decided to go with VERY diluted, especially worrying about getting it dripped in eyes. I put about a teaspoon or tablespoon of vinegar into about a half cup of water...I have these little teacups that I pour the smallest amount I can control of vinegar and add as much lukewarm water as the cup will reasonably hold without spilling. Then I mix it and dip a cotton ball into the liquid. Dab that onto the scalp until the roots are fairly saturated...trying to be careful not to make it dripping wet to get in eyes, could maybe use a cloth headband at the hairline to catch drips, too....then we wait 10-30min before getting a shower to rinse it out.
We did that about every other day for a week or two, when showers were needed anyway. Didn't use any extra shampoo, so not sure how that will affect it. But that seemed to clear up quite a bit...most of what I saw remaining was around the edges I had missed.

Sort of, but not especially. We are in WA state, west of the mountains. The girls' bedroom is fairly damp.

Re: cradle cap/dandruff on my 11 yo dd
Yes! Us too! I think it's WA. My ds just came back from a week in southern nv and it cleared it right up. Every time we go down there it goes away on its own. Even though I think we have dry hot summers here in western wa-it's still humid. I think it breeds cradle cap.
