Is it healthy if it has fruit in it?
Specifically, 2 cans of pears, drained and chopped into a baking dish.
I sprinkled them with cinnamon (roasted Saigon cinnamon) and drizzled a teaspoon of vanilla over it. Then I mixed 1 cup of self rising flour with a dash of sea salt and 1/2 cup of white sugar, and added about 3/4 c. of water (probably would have been better with milk, but since The Boy is dairy-allergic, water it was.) Poured that batter over the pears. Boiled 1 1/4 c. of water, added 2T of (dairy-free) margarine and 1.5 c. of brown sugar. Poured that over the batter. Baked it at 375 for 30 minutes, until the cake was browned. Let it sit for 10 minutes. And it is SO good! But probably not really healthy |

It's like a cobbler (I'm a fan of peach cobbler and blackberry cobbler!) but the brown sugar made a caramel sauce
