Linoleum Floors
How often do you clean them? Is there any way you can avoid the "stuff stuck to your feet" problem aside from wearing socks or shoes all the time?

Re: Linoleum Floors
Mine get vacuumed or swept 2-3 times a week, and washed once a week. I try to use hot water with very little soap to keep the gummy residue at a minimum. I also use the steam mop about every third washing. I usually wear slippers or I have stuff sticking to my feet. I'm not willing to sweep more often. Daily sweeping could be delegated to a child though.

Re: Linoleum Floors
Vacuumed 2 times a week and steam mopped usually once a week depending on what in the world we've dropped or other issues (puppy house training issues). With the steam mop there is no sticky residue. If we think it is looking "off", we'll do a regular mopping and then go over again with the steam mop.

Is this an option for a basement?

Re: Linoleum Floors
Do you have the older shiny surface kind or newer vinyl kind? We recently had some newer kind installed in both bathrooms - congoleum low voc made out of recycled stuff kind.I didnt think would like but really so.Would have preferred ceramic but our contactor didnt do ceramic. For that kind just sweep and clean with damp rag with small amount dish deterg. For shiny kind sweep and use either vinegar water or lemon juice water to take the stickiness off.Zak this newer kind may be a good thing for basement.Ours are installed on concrete slab

I do have a steam mop, so I'll probably use that after I sweep.
