No help on the bed thing but the knots...I wonder if it is a similar thing to that phobia of the giant seed pods. They don't bother me, but dh can't look at them with it getting creeped out and feeling gross.

Yeah, me too.

Now dd1 (who is currently sharing that bunk bed with dd2) told me she was afraid of them, too. I'll see if that was a one-time thing or if it keeps up.
