Good.
Here are some links to a few searches about Turansky & Miller (the authors), Biblical Parenting and the actual book: http://www.gentlechristianmothers.co...archid=4205468 http://www.gentlechristianmothers.co...6amp%3B+Miller http://www.gentlechristianmothers.co...6amp%3B+Miller

Re: Parenting is Heart Work?
We went to one of their seminars. It was mostly non-objectionable. They suggest a "break" to give the child a chance to calm down, reflect and decide if they are ready to comply (the child decides when the break is over so it's not really a time out). They have a list of consequences/tools, only one of which is physical punishment but are quick to point out that the word 'rod' comes up precious few times in the Bible compared to the word 'discipline'. They are against simple 'behavior modification' as a discipline goal and focus more on developing the heart.
I'd call it grace leaning discipline packaged in a way that previously Dobsonite congregations would not find it hard to get on board with. A TTYAC or SACH proponents would not like it.

Re: Parenting is Heart Work?
In that case my guess is that they realized that some members of the congregation are not interested in the GKGW stuff.

Re: Parenting is Heart Work?
They gave a seminar at our church two years ago and spanking wasn't mentioned at all. They were big on consistency and natural and logical consequences. Very grace based.

Re: Parenting is Heart Work?
It's on my reading list, too. I like some of their ideas about building honour into relationships.

I haven't read that, but I really like other things by Turansky and Miller.
