heel lift
Dh needs to get a heel lift for one shoe. Is that the kind of thing that I need to get at a shoe store that sells orthotics? Or does anyone know if you can get them cheaper at a big box store?

This is the one I use. You can select women's vs men's and the height. I have used this exact heel lift for years. I like that I can move it from shoe to shoe, and when I wear flip flops, I used double sided duct tape to keep it on. ETA: it's a rubber type of substance, and I call it my door stop

Re: heel lift
Funny you should ask this. My chiro recommended I get one, just this past week. He said the cheap ones from amazon would be fine. He also said if I wanted to get a custom fit shoe that would work as well.
Off to look at the one Susie posted.

Re: heel lift
I *think* that there might be a Dr. Scholl's machine in WalMart that will make them, in the pharmacy area of the store. I'm not entirely sure that it makes heel lifts, but I think so.
I'll have to look into those Amazon ones if it doesn't, because I'm supposed to wear one, too. I never got around to buying one after I quit seeing the chiropractor who recommended it, but I tried walking around the house for a while with one sandal and one barefoot...the difference in height being the height of the heel lift I was supposed to get...and it was amazing. It felt awkward at first, but it unknotted this spot in my back that has always been tense and sore from being pulled out of alignment by not wearing one, and I think it even helped my neck a little.

Re: heel lift
I have ones that I use when my achilles tendinitis gets bad. They're gel and I ordered them from Amazon.

Re: heel lift
Thanks all! I hope this helps dh. He has had some neck, shoulder, back pain. The chiro never said anything about this but he went for massage therapy and it was recommended. I called our local specialty shoe store who has people who know about this. I think we will go there because they said they can help get it adjusted. It will be interesting to see if it helps!
