Default Cleaning the Tub

How do you do it? I must admit - I dread cleaning the tub! Absolutely hate it. I usually use bleach or Ajax, but now that I'm pregnant again, I've been gravitating towards more natural products.

Not as often as I should. I wipe it out with Dawn and vinegar a about once a week (while I'm actually showering). When I actually scrub it, I use Dawn and vinegar plus baking soda and a brush or tough sponge.

I haven't cleaned with bleach in years

I hate cleaning the bathtub too. Most often I just shake in some baking soda and put in a tiny bit of water then scrub mostly the bottom of the tub.

I rarely wipe the shower sides.

I use Scrubbing Bubbles. It works well, but it definitely isn't natural.

I use a natural solution from Amway. But natural stuff is just about everywhere nowadays. I spray it all over the sides and bottom of tub. Leave it on for five minutes. And then, scrub off the grime (my kids seriously make it dirty). I do the same thing to the shower walls.
And I ask my husband to clean the tub when I'm pregnant!

I use chemical laden products on my tub. We have well water, and it's hard, so it leaves hard water stains, which are hard to get off without chemicals.

That said, my solution for cleaning the tub while pregnant was always to assign it to dh.

It worked for us.

If that's not an option, I'd probably just go with a gentler natural solution during pregnancy. Even if it doesn't get it *as* clean (as in our case with the hard water) it is only 9 months.

I first use a longer handled larger toilet brush and dont scrub with hands and sponge. I usually use my all purpose cleaner - a sprayer bottle with water a tiny squirt of dish soap and a little peroxide.

We used to use bleach, all kinds of products and then baking soda, borax etc. One day the washing powder fell in and I thought what the heck, and I scrubbed it off. Now I use washing powder only. Works a charm.

Magic eraser works wonders for my porcelain tub. If I use anything else I have to follow it with that anyway, so now I just use the magic eraser.

I make a paste of baking soda, a squirt of dish soap, a few drops of TTO, and some water. Everything comes off magically with it. I use a microfibre cloth to wipe it on/off. I've used various natural recipes and products and this one is by far the best.
