Cabbage and gastritis
I've been diagnosed with Hashimoto's and I suspect I have gastritis. Whether or not this is due to Hashi or just something that came on its own I don't know. I know the trigger foods and try to avoid it but if I get lazy or forget, I pay for it late at night with burning pain in my gut.
I watched a YouTube video of a well known juice guy from back in the day claiming he cured a bunch of guys in prison from gastritis by juicing cabbage, carrots, and celery in 7-10 days. I've been on the juice diet for almost 4 weeks now so doing this is not a big deal but it does not taste good at all, I've been drinking this concoction every morning since Monday this week. Wondering if this is true or a gimmick? Also if there are other natural treatments I should try. I've heard of Vit K supplements or Aloe Vera gel. Not sure but definitely do not wanna go on meds. |

Re: Cabbage and gastritis
Cabbage, especially when raw, is a goitrogen (suppresses thyroid function) so, if it were me, I would not be consuming raw cabbage, especially juiced where you get so much more than you could possibly chew.
You can find websites and videos where people have cured absolutely everything with some diet or supplement regimen. My husband has very complicated health issues and I know how it feels to want a cure. My advice is to remember that everyone is different, what works for some may not work for you, and try not to get your hopes up too much. In general, juicing is good for gastritis because the fiber can be irritating. The enzymes and minerals are good for healing. |
