Years ago, my SIL moved in with us and instead of rent, agreed to clean our house for us. I hated for her to see our tub because nothing I did would get it clean. She used dishwasher gel, and it cleaned up beautifully.
More recently, we had a rental house that the tub was horrible to keep clean. I could clean it and by 2 days later it looked like I hadn't touched it in months. So I cleaned it really well, and then I got one of those dish scrub brushes that you can put the soap in the handle of. Filled the handle with a mix of dish soap & vinegar and kept it in the shower. At the end of my shower each day, I did a quick swipe over the whole thing with the scrub brush, and it kept it clean pretty well.
