Default Help me with this houseplant!!

What is it?
How do I take care of it?
If it's not already dead.

It looks like a tiny palm tree.

It's a dracena. I've had a number of them over the years.

Water it when the soil is dry to the touch, don't over water. Make sure the pot has drainage. Bright, indirect light.

Anything else?

I can't really help, but I can commiserate. These always turn leggy and scraggly-looking for me.

Good thing I don't have cats, eh?
I am going to repot it with a palm soil mix.

A bigger pot might be good, it could be getting root bound...

Did you just acquire it or have you had it awhile?

It looks like it needs more space. A new, larger pot would be a great idea.

I'm very allergic to cats. We have a dog though.
I've had it about...maybe 6-8 months? It's got one tree looking part and a bunch of single-blade grass looking parts around it. I thought those were just "pretties" added by the florist but maybe they are actual plants.

A dracena and a philodendron were the only two plants still living when dd turned 1 yo. They were the only two that could survive on almost no water, which suggests to me that you might want to be careful about too much watering.

So I reported the big one, and reported the little ones into the same pot with new dirt.
I put a bunch of chopped up styrofoam I. The bottom of the big one.
I like it in this pot!! (Well. It was a bean pot but the lid broke so now it's a plant pot.
