Re: How does *your* garden grow? Show and tell!
to read through the thread.
we moved our garden beds this year. I am going to have a bazillion cucumber and tomatoes. My pepper plants are getting choked out by the tomatoes and zucchini. May share pictures later, really proud of how far the garden has come this year. <3

Re: How does *your* garden grow? Show and tell!
We got 2 1/2 inches of rain yesterday - which is fantastic since we are in the middle of a drought. Anyway, my plants loved it and today I found a cucumber that I did not even know was growing. I think it drank up a lot of water. It is huge. The cherry tomatoes in the bowl behind it are from my garden. The banana is just there to show the size of the cucumber.

Re: How does *your* garden grow? Show and tell!
Wow, that's one enormous cabbage!
Can I play? It's late winter here, with frosts still an issue. I planted 200+ garlic cloves a few weeks ago and they're already a few inches tall. One of my two garlic beds, with mint, lemon thyme and lemon basil or something also growing around it. The other garlic bed has comfrey in it. DH made a coldframe out of old sleepers and a shower door from our renovating. It is now home to 12 wee tiny strawberry plants I bought on the weekend and 35 toilet rolls of seeds of snowpeas, tomatoes, parsley, corn, and pumpkin which we planted today. A neighbour ripped out 4 rose bushes yesterday and dropped them off for us to enjoy instead of throwing them out. The chickens enjoyed all the worms I unearthed in my digging. I'm sure the chickens think I'm an oversized rooster! I need to find some containers to start planting chives, spring onions, lettuces, carrots and leeks in the coldframe. As soon as the frosts are at an end I'll be doing no-dig potatoes*. I've bought two varieties of seed potatoes and I'm just impatiently waiting for the weather to soften a little. DH built me some raised beds many years ago, just before we moved for work. He ripped them out since they weren't even filled yet, and all these years later they're about to be put into the ground once more! Hopefully the first of six will go in this weekend. *No-dig potatoes are explained well in method 2 here.

Re: How does *your* garden grow? Show and tell!
My cherry tomato plant got a bit out of hand and took over half of my raised bed garden. So, I trimmed it back and kind of shoved the vines all over to one side. I got a metal archway from my aunt's house that I put at the end of the garden. It is old and falling apart but I hope to grow some pretty vines on it next year.
Here are before and after photos: Before: And after: I have a cucumber plant in there and lots of black eyed peas growing right now.
