Please pray for my puppy, Luna... Update #12
Yesterday we went to a friend's house and Luna threw up in the car. Not out of the ordinary...its a hilly, curvy drive to their house. But I hadn't fed her yet, so that made it a bit odd.
At their house, she ate and played in the yard with their dog. At one point I saw her chewing on a bone, but it was good size and didn't think much of it. A while later she walks up to me, and I realize the bone is at the back of her mouth...looking like it might be stuck. It took nothing to get it away, and I kept it away. We go inside later, and she whines. So I take her out. She keeps whining. Finally throws up. Again, didn't think much of it because she had played so rough after eating. I then find her chewing on another bone, and realize its a cooked bone and she has gotten a few shards off it. I pick them up and the bone and keep it from her. On the way home she throws up again. This morning...she didn't really want to eat, but finally did. All day she's been pretty lazy and I've thought it was because she played so much yesterday. I just went to feed her again, and she didn't want to eat, but finally ate half her bowl. I threw her ball and she ignored it. I'm beginning to worry. I'm hoping she's picking up on my energy because she's begin spayed tomorrow. We're going to a low cost clinic on a day they only do spays and neuters, so I hope they are willing to check her over for any other issues. Anyways...please pray she is okay! Thank you.

Just got home. Vet said not to spay today and to take her in in a few days if she isn't acting normal.

Re: Please pray for my puppy, Luna
was it a ham bone? I let my dog gnaw on one and it gave him diarrhea and vomiting for 2 days afterward.

Last night about midnight, she half her food. She ate normally earlier in the day. (we are night people, so we just got up & will be feeding her shortly. )

Re: Please pray for my puppy, Luna
Went to the vet. Popped her shoulder & she already is moving better. Also on a muscle relaxer & need to keep her resting for a week.
She also has a staph infection on her stomach, so an antibiotic for that. Should I give her some yogurt?

Is she better now? They make probiotics for dogs in a syringe-like devise, which is easy to dispense. It is so upsetting and scary when you don't know what's wrong with a pet!

Re: Please pray for my puppy, Luna
She is doing better, but I feel like the infection is still there. She's acting normally and eating as usual. I actually just made her another appointment for Wednesday. Hopefully we can get it kicked soon!

Re: Please pray for my puppy, Luna
Luna is better! The staph infection is gone & the vet said she's very healthy.
So we got her vaccinations but no probs with them. Now we need to make an appointment to get her spayed & decide on a heartworm medication. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm thinking heartguard...
