best budget vacuum
aka my rainbow vac died so now i get to get a vacuum cleaner for my bday which is still 2 months away so all i have is this stoopid stick vac that you know like picks up the top 1/8 inch of the carpet.
but i want to start looking at reviews and prices now. ideally i would be able to get it from kohls so that if anything happens to it at anytime i can just return/exchange it we are a big family who ends up with a lot of crap on the floors. i have carpet and hardwood with rugs and i have tile in the kitchen (which i usually sweep, but i did like the option of using my rainbow floor attachment) i also really like having a long wand to clean ceilings and stuff. so any recommendations??:

Re: best budget vacuum
Yep. I bought one on the advice of a very large family. It goes great from wood to carpet.

Re: best budget vacuum
I got a Shark for Christmas based on a recommendation here. I like it, though I don't have either of those two that you linked. The one disappointment was that it started working well on linoleum, but now it really doesn't work on that, only carpet. It was so nice to plug it in once and clean both the family room and kitchen!

Re: best budget vacuum
I love my dyson.
I've heard great things about the shark too, but I decided to splurge on a dyson and love it. Don't have a shark to compare it too tho.

Is the one I have. The vacuum tube does not extend as long as my mom's dyson. But, it maneuvers so much better. It pivots really nice. You can turn the brush roll off for flat floors, as well. I never sweep anymore. It get edges really well and I hardly ever have to pull out the wand to do edging.
