Re: Recommend a GREAT Rice Cooker
My Korean friend tells me that National is another good brand. I have a Black and Decker rice cooker, but I have to serve the rice immediately when it is done, or it gets an overcooked film where the rice touches the liner. My friend can leave her rice cooker on for days and it is perfect and ready to eat. Asian rice cookers make rice in a way that suits their culture (rice at all meals). I am sure if my rice cooker was left on overnight the rice wouldn't be edible in the morning.

Re: Recommend a GREAT Rice Cooker
I think I want Punkie's rice cooker!
Yes, if you cook a lot of rice, then a rice cooker is a good investment. We eat rice many, many times a week. My son LOVED living in Japan because he could get rice at almost any restaurant. I can cook rice on top of the stove, but the rice cooker makes it so much easier. My first rice cooker was a used one a Japanese friend of mine gave me. I could leave the rice in there overnight and have it still nice and fresh the next day. A rice cooker simplifies things so much. Put the rice and water and whatever else in and press a button or two and walk away. You could do that long before you want to eat because most will keep it nice and warm for hours.
