Has anyone made homemade lozenges?

I found a bunch of recipes one that is just slippery elm powder and honey mixed raw until makes a ball and dried. Others require heating to 300 and using candy molds. I am thinking of experimenting but wondering if anyone has any BTDT tips.

We've done the slippery elm powder ones. The kids love them! Easy and fun. My dd was 12 or 13 when she took over making them for me.

I'm trying to remember if we did the hard candy kind.

If we did, they were less successful. I'll probably try again this year.

I made hard candy from just honey this year for halloween. Found the instructions on pinterest. It worked great! We made lollipops as well as heard shaped hard candies

The reason I'm struggling w the hard candy kind is that the honeys medicinal properties are destroyed at that high heat

otoh it's not consuming colors and junk

The honey and slippery elm tasted yucky to me.
