recurring mold in near sink drains?
perhaps I should post this in the health forum but I"ll try here first.
We have been getting recurring mold near our bathroom sink drains (both upstairs and downstairs) and near the tub drains that seems abnormal to me. I'm not looking so much for a way to clean it (although ideas are good) but if anyone thinks that it's abnormal. The first 10 years we lived here we did not really clean those things much more than we do now but we never had mold before. I just cleaned my tub thoroughly less than two weeks ago and today I noticed black specks on the bottom of the tub kind of near the drain hole- not in a circle around it but in two patches about an inch away. I'm wondering if there could be mold in the drains and pipes and it spores itself out into the tub and sinks or if there could be mold IN the water (town water). ?? does anyone else have what seems like almost constant mold around their sink/tub drains? (I realize I don't scrub out the sinks every week but I'm guessing there are plenty of others who don't either... does the water completely drain out of your sinks and tubs or is there often a wet area right near the drain metal circle thing?

We have that. It's really annoying... I just assumed that it's because of improper draining, but now you have me wondering. .

Re: recurring mold in near sink drains?
I never really noticed our sinks not draining all the way before. I think they would be dry if not used all day. I definintely know that we did not have mold in the sinks before. we'd get it on the shower curtain but not on the tub.
