I wound up making this:

It was yummy! I cut up the sweet potatoes, parsnips, onion and garlic, tossed them with some olive oil, salt and pepper, and roasted them with the sausage. Then I sautéed the snowpeas in butter. the kids are actually eating less, and saying they are full, quicker.

I tried to make some meringue cookies today with xylitol, and it was a big FAIL. oh well.

I downloaded Rodale's Whole foods cookbook to my kindle yesterday and I cant tell you how excited I am to try the recipes! I made up some granola today from the book and it was delish!! I'm making a sage pork recipe later this week and I'm going to try to make their apple upside down breakfast cake as a treat this week. I love that they use whole Wheats and grains and brown/raw/natural sweeteners instead of refined white sugar. I am so stoked that I found this cookbook!!

Hey we ate the same dinner last night Except no one but dh and I liked it. I like it a lot best pork I've eaten since adding pork into our diet. Everyone else got up and made their own dinner - which I allow when we are eating pork

Because. . . pork is a brand new item on our table. We were STRICT about eating no pork for a long time (years!) and since being on GAPs added pork bacon. Then we decided to eat pork and bought 1/2 pig and are finding out that the girls hate pork, DS and I tolerate it and Dh is in hog heaven . They even didn't like our bratwurst I keep trying though - we've only had pork in the house for a few months and none of these kids ate pork before. I am about to give up and make the pork for dh's lunches while we all go back to just bacon

Pork is the only food my natural health place recommended I not eat. I get incidental amounts of it when we eat somewhere other than home but that's it.

I'm guessing it you're not doing dairy, it would be bad. Make the fries at no nos because of the peanut oil? Anyway, neither of those things bother me, bring it on!

I tweaked a recipe this morning for coconut flour pancakes - SO. DE. LICIOUS.

I added mashed bananas which greatly improved the taste and texture. And while I ate until I was full, it doesn't feel heavy and gross in my tummy. I like that. Kids loved them.

We're almost totally out of groceries, so it's time to make another meal list! Something I noticed: we're seriously almost completely out of food, and I haven't had to grow any produce away, at all! I normally have at least *something*, often lots of somethings, hanging out in the crisper drawer getter hairy and moldy. not this time, though!

We are only eating bacon now. I can't see us adding in a whole lot more pork, though I could probably go for a fried pork chop. Oh.MY.WORD! I forgot about those.

Well, though I still go to CFA because I consider it the best of ALL the fast food evils, I read (on GCM I believe ) that there is MSG in their chicken - in the marinade for the grilled and the batter for the fried. AND my CFA has a sign that they now fry the fries in canola oil . I preferred peanut. So hard to eat out! But I think I did well yesterday. It was almost dinnertime and we were at Target. So we could have stopped at CFA on the way home. But instead I bought a box of larabars for $5 (what a deal!!!!) and we ate every single one. The kids had a healthy meal of sauteed chicken breast with zucchini and onions in curry powder before bed. DH and I ate a taco salad (without the tacos ) - sweet peppers, guacomole, ground beef, lettuce, onions, celery .

Here are the ingredients for the Chargrilled chicken, lots of different names for MSG, but it doesn't like dairy as an allergen My bestie used to work there and she said all their chicken is soaked in milk, maybe it's not?

Chargrilled chicken (100% natural whole breast filet, water, contains less than 2% of sugar, butter flavored vegetable oil [soybean oil, palm kernel oil, soy lecithin, natural & artificial butter flavor, TBHQ, beta carotene], yeast extract, seasoning [sugar, spice, paprika, soybean oil], modified food starch, salt, sea salt, natural flavors, dextrose, potassium phosphate, maltodextrin, autolyzed yeast extract, disodium inosinate, disodium guanylate, paprika),

They used to fry their fries in the same oil as the chicken, but now they have dedicated fryers, so other than the corn in their fries (dextrose being the major one that you would be avoiding if you were on the whole30, nevermind the fact that they're white potatoes ) they're fine now, according to my gluten-free friend, so I stand corrected!

We just had a tour of CFA and watched them prep the food and the chicken was not being soaked . The reason the fries are GF is because they use regular fryers for the fries and pressure fryers for the chicken.

What you eat when you're absolutely scraping the bottom of the primal barrel:

every veggie we had left! Lettuce, peppers, snowpeas (that bag of snowpeas lasted 4 meals!), scallions, celery, tomato, avocado. Three chicken thighs, cooked in some coconut oil and seasoned with salt & pepper, juice of a lime squeezed over during cooking. I diced the chicken and poured it and the juices over the while thing, added a little bit of ranch dressing mixed with barbecue sauce, and mix everything up! Can't. Stop. Eating.

Today is the first day that I feel like my body is starting to change. i don't know if my measurements have changed, but my jeans are fitting differently and I don't feel 6 months pregnant. I peeked at the scale and I'm down 5 lbs, but I don't put much stock in scale numbers. it's a nice feeling, though!
