Re: Anyone Knowledgeable About EMF's Here?
I think I remember reading that the plug-in ones are better than cordless. My ds sleeps with me, but I always have a baby monitor on too when he's sleeping and I'm not. And I think I read that it's best to keep them as far away from the baby/child as possible.

Re: Anyone Knowledgeable About EMF's Here?
Um... We use ip cameras viewed on our iPhones because both our kids like to stealth wake up and get into mischief... Plus DD is such a light sleeper if we even crack the door to check on her she wakes up (unless of course, we WANT her to wake...) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: Anyone Knowledgeable About EMF's Here?
So I'm kind of freaked out. The internet/telephone guy hooked everything up and it's wireless internet (brand new complex, and offered in the purchase price is one year of free wireless internet). I asked him if he knew much about EMF's and he said he reads about it when he comes across articles, but doesn't totally know what he thinks. He said as far as me wondering about where to place the modem etc, it won't make a difference because practically everyone in the building is using wireless (since it's free) so no matter where you are, it's surrounding you anyway. It will still obviously help to turn my own Wifi off at night, right? But having all our neighbors stuff all around us is bad.
What can I do to protect my children and myself in the best way possible, knowing it's all around me? Would it be weird to try to gather some information about the dangers of it and ask people in the building to consider turning off their Wifi at night and when not in use? Or would that be pushy and odd? And if I want to find out more... should I buy a detector that measures all forms of bad stuff so I could constantly monitor things, or would I be better to hire someone to come out once and give me an educated explanation of how things are and where to go from there? (probably can't afford to buy both a detector and a visit.) You know how some things a person needs to be knowledgeable about before "fixing", or you can make it worse? (For example, if you paint your rooms with paint that blocks cell tower radiation, it can make the radiation inside your own home bounce and cause a ping pong effect that does even more damage than it would if you hadn't done anything.)

Re: Anyone Knowledgeable About EMF's Here?
It would be weird and your neighbors won't stop using wifi, they will just think you are weird.
I'm not really sure what I would do if I lived in close proximity to others. I can't even see any houses from my house and I do use wifi at home. The things I've read say to have no phones or wireless devices in bedrooms at night and to keep any corded items away from your bed. Mommypotamus had a recent post which suggests a lot of products.
